I am a member of law enforcement in Marshalltown. Suzanne Butts has not only been convicted of theft, but various assaults as well. She fights with police officers when apprehended and actually caused one of our officers to have a heart attack as he was trying to restrain her. She has been arrested for theft at least 6 times.
This website is irresponsible in encouraging individuals to send toilet paper to the courthouse. You should be ashamed of yourself. The bottom line is that a crime occurred, and we have to do our jobs and make an arrest. 36 out of 44 found this valuable. Do you?

Yes Butts is a criminal .. But does she have to be made out to be some joke. Grow up Marshalltown Policeman.. Suzanne does what she has been brought up to do.. I have always known her to be a little violent when she is approached. This is a girl that should of had help many years ago.. She has been the butt of so many jokes and made fun of so much... Example the kids that go to school and kill . They were the outcasts the ones people bullied or made fun of.. Are you police paying attention to those kinds of acts and doesnt that raise a red flag for you..
Let me tell you for a fact and I do know this. If Suzanne was to have some people to narc on that are doing drugs or selling she would of been back out on the streets with a case of Charmin to boot. I think this town is taking one of our misfortunate citizens and treating them like they are scum and making fun and ridiculing.. I have one thing to say to you Mr. Policeman.. Shame on you. No shame on you. If you know her so well and havent gotten her help then shame on you. The police in this town........At times Im not a fan of..............But when it matters they are there. I think the only people that you should be saying shame on you to is the media...........They are the ones that have made her into a joke including the person that has created this rediculous website. Why should the police be ashamed for doing their job. Maybe you have been a fortunate one that hasnt needed the police............lucky you. But I have needed them and they are there.
Everyone gets teased.........My children get teased..........Its part of life. The people that grow up to be school yard bullies or killers are the kids who have been shown that its ok to call their parents names ...........STEAL..........show them that there parents dont care....................Why should the rest of us have to pay for the unfortunate child that had a bad child hood. WE ALL HAD BAD CHILD HOODS. I was beaten almost everyday and lived in a house of alcohol...................huh maybe I should go steal toilet paper...............will you make excuses for me too. Yes I understand abuse and living with alcohol when I grew up too.. But the fact is Suzanne is retarded. Suzanne is doing everything she has been brought up to do..
I also know that we have some very good policeman on our force and I also know we have some real Power players .. That is everywhere. It just makes me sick that this girl is retarded and the compassion is just not there for her. I wouldnt want my child to be made out a joke like they have made this gal out .. I dont think you would either. There are so many problems in this world to worry about and for a writer to have described this offense in the paper like he did was just plain ignorant. He needs to try out at the comedy club and maybe do that for a living.. Any time a person hurts someones feelings to get a few laughs is crap in my book.. Thats my point. I am not saying she shouldnt get some type of charge for this and have to do probation or maybe do communtiy service.. I am all for that.. It takes a small person though to use the feelings of someone else to get a laugh.. I also think sending a roll of toilet paper to the court house is a joke too.. They will not get one from me.. We all get teased but if it was in the paper when our children or we got made fun of I dont think that is cool at all.. When I was brought up my father was in prison. I had a choice to be like him or not. I chose not to be like him. But I also dont have any retardation or learning disabilities like Suzanne. I also was not taught steal. I gotta agree with the pigs....Interference with offical acts is not cool. Not to mention expensive.
so she has issues that are far more deeper than just stealing toilet paper. She is a violent criminal. And needs to be jailed (with no toilet paper in her cell) and also rehabilitated. But keep this in mind about the mudville pigs: They are one of two types of people: 1) A bully in high school. 2) Or a bullying victim in high school. In either case, you got a redneck with a badge. More so in mudville county. That's why they took down the "excellence: sign from the cop shops front door...You can't be excellent when you hire MHS graduates. You know what John. I was going to comment on your antics and nasty remarks that you have placed all over this forum. But then realizing that I am obviously dealing with just another individual that is mentally challenged. Again I ask how you can say 'GOD BLESS' after you have talked trash and say such nasty things to people. Maybe you need to go back to jail and be rehabilitated your self. You obviously were a product of a home with parents that didnt care. You show no respect and your rabelings are quite irritating. You your self must have graduated from MHS - I just gathered that by the way you trash them and your lack of knowledge. - do us all a favor - Go to church.

Waaahhhhh, poor little retarded theif she needs help, it's not her fault, she didn't know what she was doing,show some compassion. My god some of the posts on here make me wanna puke. ITS A CRIME TO STEAL! & shes obviously had run ins with the law. So quit defending her & lock her up where she can't be a menace. The Marshalltown police are doing their job. The county attorneys office will do theirs, A court appointed attorney (which I pay for with taxes)will make some feeble defense & hopefully the judge will do his job by taking this retarded parasite out of circulation & locking her up in the nut hut for a couple of years where she belongs. Get with the program & off the crack, Stealing is a crime & habitual criminals go to jail duh!

11. Homeless Shelter?

I can't remember the name right off of the homeless place, but it looks like a church I think..........near Church Street? I was driving by yesterday evening, and I was sure I saw her with some men, sitting on the steps. If what you state is true, then yes, she was being watched, confirming what I'd commented about before: She was being watched, so for someone to single her out for no reason would be ludicrous. Or, go a step farther, and make yourself a better example than the examples you had growing up. An officer who's familiar with the case stated recently that she's been arrested six times. That's as if, I come up to you, and kick you square in the face with my foot at 45 mph. I not only break your nose, but I point at you, while you're picking up your two teeth from the pavement, and laugh. Are you going to make sure I'm prosecuted, especially after you find out I've done this to others six times prior, or are you going to just blow it off while your black eyes start to heal, and say to your friends, "Well, you can't blame her.......she was an outcast." Oh, and by the way, my last name is Chan. She's at a homeless shelter where they attempt to transpose people, teach them to lead a decent life, make a decent living, and interact with society in order to better themselves. I hope the courthouse isn't further disrupted by individual mailings of rolls. I hope there is an appropriate outcome of Suzanne Butts receiving the much needed psychiatric treatment, and that the officer who had the heart attack fully recovers.

eat a dick pig, maybe you should take a little more time investigating and arresting criminals of a more severe nature drugs murder etc. seems like to me you have nothing to do but crucify a petty thief. and as for the heart attack, maybe a little exercise would be in order apparently the health of your officers is more of an issue. Apparently you aren't in good enough shape to catch a real criminal
